Not every excellent driver is an exceptional teacher, but Daniel’s students will tell you he possesses that rare combination. The key? Daniel loves coaching as much as driving.
Daniel is an instructor in the Porsche Sport Driving School-USA and Panoz Racing schools. He believes one can develop into a safe, fast and consistent driver based on exposure to proper technique and fundamentals. Early on, Daniel learned from Vic Elford, Barry Waddell, Jim Pace, Robbie Buhl, Carl Lopez, Terry Earwood, Divina Galica, Jeremy Dale, Peter Argetsinger, and Derek Bell. To that, he adds his own experience.
Daniel knows the fundamental principle of all good teaching: Tell, Show, Do. Repeat patiently. He is enthusiastic, articulate, expressive, intuitive, patient ... and fun. He listens. He is technical but does not give too much too soon.
Daniel does data. He makes numbers, charts and graphs understandable and helpful. He can help you transform data into faster laps. Daniel can also advise and help with purchase and installation of various data systems, always focusing on your needs and budget.
Daniel's students should anticipate spending time reviewing car set-up. Drivers can only go as fast as the car's capability; ensuring that the car is not interfering with performance is fundamental to Daniel's coaching technique.Contact Daniel at 706-380-5292 or de@max-racing.com to talk about private coaching, on either a daily or "event" basis. Or, sign up for the Porsche or Panoz courses and request Daniel as an instructor.
